1. It's been a couple weeks since we were here, but it was very smile-worthy! For spring break, we headed to southern Utah to one of my husband's and my favorite places - Zion National Park. While there, we visited the ghost town of Grafton.
I loved visiting ghost towns as a kid and want my kids to have similar experiences. This one has become quite popular now that most of the buildings have been redone. Before we were married, my hubby helped me do a documentary about Grafton for my film class, so the place holds good memories, too.
2. I've been re-reading some books I haven't read in years and loving them all over again - The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi.
3. Our tulips are in full bloom and the weather looks like it may FINALLY be ready to stay in the nice spring temperatures.
4. I've written over 70 pages in Book #3 of my WWI trilogy and been enjoying my time with the main characters, Colin and Nora.
5. Notes of love left for me by one of my kids sure makes me smile, too!
What's made you smile today, this week? Does it feel like Spring yet where you live? Have you ever visited a ghost town?

It snowed last night. Does that answer your spring question? Tulip leaves are visible, but no flowers yet. :(
I love ghost towns!
Every year I say I'm going to plant Tulip bulbs and I never do. :( I love them.
I feel like we skipped spring. Yesterday was hot and 83. But I'll take it. I'm not a fan of cold weather.
What made me smile this week was a phone call from my mom Tuesday morning. She knew it was my first day back to work after a long weekend in Savannah with writing friends. She said, "I know it's always a little hard to return to the day job after such a fun vacay, so just wanted to call and let you know I'm praying for you and love you." Do I have an amazing mom or what? :)
Oh, and also, those writing friends in Savannah threw me an early book launch celebration. I was so stinkin' surprised! It was awesome. :)
Supposedly there's a ghost town 45 minutes south of where I live in Vegas, with part of a crashed plane stuck in the mountain, but I've never been. Also there's a buried town somewhere near Hoover Dam, but I don't know much about that either. I've always itched to go, but never have. Not to the buried town per se. That might be quite impossible. :)
I love the "Ordinary Princess"! in fact it plays a part in my next MS whose working title is "Ebony and Amethyst". The main character's middle name is Amethyst and named after the Ordinary Princess
Stina - We actually had snow here today, too, so maybe the spring weather hasn't quite arrived yet. LOL.
Jessica - Ours tulips tend to look a little haphazard. :) This purple one is the only one of its color, among a bunch of yellow ones.
Melissa - What a super sweet thing from your Mom. And an awesome surprise from friends. I'm smiling about your upcoming book, too!!! :)
Jessie - Both ghost towns sound cool, although yes, the one might be hard to find. :D
Becki - Love that title and I love the name Amethyst. Pretty and unique.
Spring visited us last week...but it left again. Hopefully it will return in a couple of days. At least all the snow has melted--but no tulips blooming, yet. :) So nice to see you again.
Gabrielle - Hurray the snow has melted. :) Thanks for stopping by - I sure enjoy reading your blog.
