2. Reading Little House in the Big Woods to my boys (they actually seem to enjoy it, while I'm reminded each time of why I love historicals)
3. Fixing my bike (I liked riding my bike pre-kids, so I'm excited to get back to doing it - now it's just figuring out when)
4. Seeing the word count go up even faster on my current manuscript now that I have a consistent time to write
5. Sunshine and nice breezes
6. Watching Phineas and Ferb with my kids (Every time I watch an episode, I can't help but either laugh or smile. One of my favorite lines is "Ferb and I wrote a twenty-eight volume science fiction swashbuckling historical romance tell-all potboiler mystery satire buddy cop adventure tragedy how-to action novel!")
What makes you smile lately? What do you do for exercise and how do you squeeze it in?

ROFL, b/c we love that show and I love it when he says that too. I always giggle. My son doesn't get it! He's 7!
Usually, I find myself smiling at my son's advanced ability to produce wit and sarcasm, often.
I smile at other mothers talking to their tiny tots in the grocery store, it reminds me of when my kids were tiny and said cute things (not sarcastic humor like now)
My writer friends that send me hilarious tweets.
Excercise? I have a mac daddy treadmill, but I get bored. So I like to go outside or do P90X videos like Kenpo. That's my favorite. It's fun and I feel like I'm kicking the crap out of someone, mostly it's kicking the crap out of me. :)
I facebooked you, did you get that?
I drooled at your #1. My weakness for sure.
And I'm not sure I've ever watched an entire episode of P&F. Oh wait, no I did watch one about Doris Floris Gorgeous.
~ Wendy
Jessica - Hurray, another P&F fan! Loved your list.
Wendy - I've been spoiled - no other bread tastes quite as good after eating that wheat bread. :)
My kids make me smile. They always say the best things. I think Phineas and Ferb is one of my top 3 favorite shows. LOVE THEM. Fresh bread sounds yummy!
Jenny - Even my 19-month-old likes the show - or maybe it's just the catchy theme song at the beginning. :)
These are great Stacy :) I'm jealous your hubby makes bread.
I'm reading Little House to my daughter and I smile as my boys (10 and 12) sneak into the room to listen :)
I also love P&F (we must be long lost soul sisters). My favorite line is when Buford says: I am to metaphor cheese as metaphor cheese is to transitive verb crackers. But yours might be better :) I did an entire post on P&F last month.

Sorry, that was a novel length comment.
My kids and hubby make me smile.
My dogs.
Going out for breakfast with hubby.
Sunsets.
Watching the hummingbirds feed on my feeders.
My executive manager always has a music or movie trivia question for me when I walk into work. Who sang....??? or he quotes a line and asks, What movie?? He spends alot of time trying to stump me. He makes me smile.
I think I would smile and then fall over in a dead faint if my hubby ever brought me some home baked bread...haha.
Fun post.
LOVE Phineas and Ferb - and I TOTALLY know the episode you're talking about :D
I don't know how I fit it all in, I really don't. I just sort of flail along, lol.
I LOVE to go biking, too, but it's one of those things that's really, really hard with kids.
I agree with many you’ve listed.
I'm a huge LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE fan.
There's nothing better than accomplishing many words for the day on your novel.
Sunrise, sunset…magnificent!
Reading an amazing book while curled up in a chair in front of the window on a beautiful day.
Watching a movie that turns out to be one that you want to watch again right away.
Listening to my music really loud in the car.
Taking my kids to someone place they’ve never been before.
Taking in a rescue.
Visiting those in prison.
Just to name a few.
Fun list, Stacy! The smell of bread baking always makes me smile. :) As for exercise, I do fitness boot camp two mornings a week, plus Zumba and yoga other times in the week. The classes are at times when my hubby can be home with the kids, which works out great!
Oh, I love LITTLE HOUSE IN THE BIG WOODS! I so need to pull out my old Little House books and start reading them to my daughter. She'd love them!
And we're big fans of Phineas and Ferb at our house too.
Angie - That's cute your boys sneak in to hear Little House too!
Loree - Thanks for following! We like to play a game with our kids in which we quote kid movie lines or songs and have them guess.
Jolene - I'm trying to decide if getting a bike trailer for the kiddoes would make biking more doable at this stage.
Kym - Superb list! I like to crank the tunes in the car sometimes too when I'm by myself.
Sarah - I've wanted to try Zumba, but I kind of like doing stuff on my own. That way no one else sees me huffing and puffing. :)
Elana - I bet your daughter would love the Little House books! I figure if my boys get bored with it, I'll try again with my daughter in a few more years.
Huh, my son just started watching Phineas and Ferb... and I have never lingered long enough in the family room to hear any of that incredibly hilarious dialogue...
Things that make me smile? Kids going to bed before 9 (and staying there), curling up with a novel that insists I keep turning the pages, a warm slice of apple pie with vanilla icecream...
Oh Jeeze, exercise? what is that? I have a schedule, that's a start. =)
I love your list. What makes me smile right now is anticipating flying to California on the 21st to see my daughter and her hubby and my four grandkids I've not seen since February. Can't wait!
Kim - Yum to apple pie and ice cream. My favorite treat is oatmeal, chocolate chip cookies - they are the one area I can outbake my husband. :)
E. Arroyo - LOL! I need to figure out where to put biking in the schedule and then I'm much more likely to do it.
Donna - How cool you get to go see grandkids! Hope you have a faublous time.
Dude! How did you remember that whole big line?
And we LOVE P&H ~ they're the best!
Yay for consistent writing time and find some cycling time!
Yay for consistent writing time! I haven't had that since school started. I dont know what happened, but my schedule is crazy!!
As for exercise...I give it too high a priority, I think. I use a gym, and it's more than 20 min. away and I go 3 times a week for 2 hours each time. Sucks tons of time out of my day/week. But what can I say? It's hugely important to me. I keep saying I need to cut back but I can never bring myself to do it!
Ali - I only remembered a few words of that big long quote, so I googled those for the rest! :)
Tamara - Love your dedication and determination. If only I liked exercise more. :)
I love Phineas and Ferb! Makes me laugh almost every time too.
Still figuring out the exercising thing here too =).
Baby laughs are the best thing that make me smile lately! And looking forward to getting together with good friends! =)
